A spacious two-bedroom, beachfront private home, located in Avaavaroa on the South-West coast of the island. The property has high ceilings within the open-plan lounge/dining/kitchen area. It is well maintained and fully equipped including –
Living area: Cane lounge suite and coffee table, tv, dvd, radio/cd player and standard fan.
Dining area: Cane dining suite.
Kitchen area: Breakfast bar with stools, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric stove/oven, electric toaster, hotwater jug and blender, coffee plunger, cutlery/kitchen utensils, crockery, glassware, pots and pans.
Sleeping arrangements are –
Bedroom 1 – Queensize bed, bedside tables and reading lamps, standard fan, open wardrobe.
Bedroom 2 – Twin single beds that can be zipped up to form a queensize, bedside table and lamp, standard fan, open wardrobe.
The bathroom has shower facilities with vanity and wc. There is a washtub and automatic washing machine tucked away in an alcove.
A plus for this property is the huge 10 x 6 wood decking which extends from the already spacious living area. Three quarters of the decking is under cover and there are sun loungers with outdoor table and chairs for your comfort.
A ramp for wheelchair access has been included in the well-thought out plan of the home. Towels and linen are supplied, however, bring your favourite beach towel if you cannot do without it. There are ironing facilities and gas hotwater system. The property is insect screened and tiled throughout.
The beach in front of Maurua Beach House is swimable, however, there is currently a coastal protection project in operation along the South/West coast of Rarotonga which entails the placement of specially designed concrete structures in the sea some metres away from the beach. This is to help build up as well as contain the sand banks along the foreshore. A short walk will bring you to a beautiful stretch of beach without the structures.
