Situated on the south side of Rarotonga in tranquil Vaimaanga. M&M "Bach" is a high ceilinged two bedroom house. Built across the road from one of Rarotonga's most beautiful white sand beaches known for its snorkeling, marine treasures, and excellent swimming.
Two spacious bedrooms hold large queensize beds (one also has a single bed), with new linen and furnishings, ideal for a one or two couple vacation, or family unit. The newly appointed kitchen (with full oven/stove and microwave) opens to the dining area and large living area with TV and stereo. Sliding doors from the lounge lead to the wooden deck and allow passage of the on shore breeze through the house, keeping it light and cool.
Transportation around the island is conveniently located close by with bus stop, and buses that generally run every hour around the island. Alternately a 15 minute sunset stroll along the beach will lead you to the "Vaima" restaurant replete with an excellent bar and menu. Coming back along the road will take you past Wigmores superstore for essential household shopping and further along the Yellow Hibiscus Restaurant. Walking the other way will bring you to the Saltwater Caf� (excellent coffee), more great snorkeling and the Queens Representative Home.
The Vaimaanga district is also famous for "Papua" (Wigmores Waterfall) and the cross island walk, a four hour trek that takes you through the tropical interior of the island to "The Needle" a large rock outcrop that reveals spectacular mountain views of Rarotonga, from the mountains to the sea! People generally start this trek inland from the township of Avarua ending up in Vaima at the waterfall.

We had a most wonderful holiday.
MM Batch has the perfect set up, the welcome package provides enough to keep the batch running smoothly, tea/coffee, washing powder, dishwashing liquid, towels etc. The kitchen is well equipped, there's a large washing machine and a full sized fridge freezer. We took enough food for our trip, but Wigmores is just down the road for fresh produce and ice cream.
The beach across the road provided the best snorkelling around the whole island with an abundance of colour and variety. We used a hire car to get around the island but preferred this beach area as it is also very quiet.
The bed was very comfortable, the Batch is spacious and would easily accommodate two couples or a family. Being June there was no need for air conditioning but there are fans in each room, the passionfruit covered deck was big enough for outdoor dining and privacy provided by hedges.
Eddie the manager is only a phone call away if the BBQ is out of gas, he is very accommodating.
Thank you Eddie, we will be back and would want to stay here again for all of the above reasons, it is so much better than our last trip at Muri.
