Rangi’s place is situated in Matavera, a living/working village where locals go about their day to day business without the presence of the usual tourist traffic. It is located on the east side of the island a short 10-15 minute drive to Avarua, a 2 minute drive to the swimming beaches of Muri Lagoon and 2 minutes walk to a dairy.

This large, beachfront property is spacious and cool with double sliding doors leading out to the covered verandah and the outdoors. The Villa has been totally renovated, re-wired, re-roofed and newly insect screened. If you have a larger party (8 to 10 persons) you can also request Rangi’s self-contained studio adjacent to the Villa (sleeps 2-4 people), it has its own ensuite facilities and cooking duties can be performed on the BBQ.

The beach directly in front of the property is one of the best fishing beaches on the island. The marine life is abundant and locals come from all over the island to fish for Trevalli, Moki, Cod, Octopus, Shellfish and other island delicacies. Kids can spend hours exploring the reef, gathering shells or paddling in the rock pools.

Make time to stroll along the beach in the early morning and catch the rising sun or take a walk across the road towards the mountains where you will see beautiful gardens lined with breadfruit, mango and chestnut trees. You will also see banana, noni, arrowroot, taro and kumara plantations among the lush tropical vegetation.

The minimum stay at the property is one weeks stay (7 nights)
